Resumen

San Francisco, EEUU, 1974

MOMO es un artista estadounidense que comenzó su trabajo experimental al aire libre a finales de los años 90, trabajando con herramientas caseras y tomando prestado el espacio público. Diez años de proyectos autofinanciados, centrados en técnicas de masonería adaptadas, estrategias basadas en collage, códigos de programación y trabajo en serie, forman la base de su lenguaje visual.

 

Este lenguaje encuentra su expresión en la pintura, en los murales por encargo y en el trabajo de estudio desde 2009 hasta nuestros días. Los murales más notables incluyen los de Facebook, Pepsi, NFL, World Trade Center, John Hancock Tower, Art Production Fund NY, Capital Europea de la Cultura, the NYC DOT y Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3. Sin embargo, los muros autogestionados en Jamaica, Sicilia y Arizona (2013, 2016, 2018), habiendo sido financiados por el propio artista, han sido importantes para demostrar técnicas innovadoras para una audiencia general sin las preocupaciones comerciales habituales.
