MAFIA TABAK
Mafia Tabak (b. 1990 AUSTRIA). Lives and works in Vienna.
By painting graffiti since 2006, his studio work (canvases, installations, drawings, prints) are nowadays another way of expressing himself, which is of course all influenced by his graffiti background. His work reflects his ironic driven humor and the fact the he does not want to take painting as something too serious. The use of his materials, motives, references and even how MAFIA TABAK shapes forms and chooses colors are related on cliches but reinterpret in new contextes. Although all the forms, figurative or abstract, portrayed expressively and vividly, Tabak organizes them into intelligible structures.
Comenzando en el graffiti en 2006, MAFIA TABAK considera todo su trabajo de estudio (lienzos, instalaciones, dibujos, grabados) como otra forma de expresarse, por supuesto influenciada por su trabajo como graffitero. Su obra refleja su humor irónico y el hecho de que no quiere tomar la pintura como algo demasiado serio. El uso de sus materiales, motivos, referencias e incluso cómo MAFIA TABAK da forma y elige colores están relacionados en clichés pero se reinterpretan en nuevos contextos. Aunque todas las formas, figurativas o abstractas, retratadas de manera expresiva y vívida, Tabak las organiza en estructuras inteligibles.
