Cristina Lama at Art Central HK

Cristina applies paint through energetic and very material brushstrokes that bring expressiveness to the pictorial process. In her compositions, canons and perspectives disappear, making characters and objects unfold on the same plane or simply appear abstracted from any context. In this way, the object represented becomes just another element, subordinated to the ultimate intention of her production, which is purely pictorial.

In the artist's own words, her inspiration comes "from stimuli such as everyday anecdotes, music, cinema, classical art, literature.... Any personal experience or motif, a priori inconsequential, can serve as a starting point to approach the work".

Cristina Lama's work has been exhibited in national and international contemporary art centers such as the CAAC in Seville, the CAC Málaga, the Museo de la Diputación de Huelva, the MIAM in Sète (France), the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice (Italy), etc., as well as in galleries in Italy, Portugal, Germany, Sweden, USA, Mexico and Canada.

Her work can also be found in collections such as the CAAC Seville, CAC Malaga, the Benetton Art Spain Collection, the Cordeiros Collection in Oporto or the Carragosela Collection in Lisbon, among others
