Delimbo was founded in 2006, almost 20 years ago, from a very natural, almost unconscious impulse of its founders, Laura Calvarro and Seleka. At that time, they felt there was a type of art that wasn’t being shown in Seville’s galleries. Around them, there was already a community of friends and artists with similar interests who served as inspiration. They wanted to give visibility to contemporary artistic practices that had no proper place yet, creating a space where this art could be shown without being diluted or losing its original character when entering the institutional circuit.
In its early years, Delimbo functioned as a mixed space: half shop, half gallery. They sold sprays, clothing, and objects related to urban art, but always with the clear goal of exhibiting art and building a community. This informal past helped position the gallery as an accessible and approachable place—something not always associated with contemporary art spaces. Even today, we keep that spirit alive by offering graphic works and rotating editions at a variety of prices, allowing different audiences to connect with art from multiple perspectives.
From the beginning, Delimbo has tried to stay true to its identity and its way of working. We have collaborated with artists from all over the world, both emerging and established, always striving to maintain coherence with who we are and where we started. Among the artists we’ve had the pleasure to exhibit are Vhils, Mike Swaney, Andy Rementer, Cristina Lama, and Nacho Eterno, among many others.
We remain committed to promoting ultra-contemporary art and supporting emerging artists, with one of our main objectives being to bring the work of the artists we represent to a global audience. Beyond our exhibitions, one of the gallery’s key goals is to offer personalized guidance to collectors who wish to start or expand their collections. Fostering art collecting is one of our greatest challenges, and for that reason we provide advisory services tailored to both new and experienced collectors.
Delimbo also collaborates with institutions to promote art through projects such as PLAZES, a mural art initiative promoted by the Provincial Council of Seville, in collaboration with municipalities across the province and curated by Delimbo.
